OUR TRIP TO THE U.P.

We spent 10 days in August camping across the U.P. Started in Sault Ste. Marie and did the Soo Locks tour
Then we headed to Tahquamenon Falls
these pics were taken by the lower falls
we had to canoe over to a little island where you can walk around to get a better view of the lower falls
this is the Upper Falls
Sara was tired of walking so Jen said she would give her a piggy back ride
See the distance from the stump to where Jen is at? That's how long the piggy back ride lasted - big surprise!
We headed to Whitefish Point to see the lighthouse and the Shiprick Museum - Jen was pretty excited to see that!
Crisp Point Lighthouse - what a wild goose chase this was! Took forever to get to it - crazy curvy bumpy roads that seem to lead to nowhere - but eventually we got there
Major even climbed up the lighthouse with us!

Headed back down
Posing on the beach for a couple of pictures

Major loved relaxing on the beach
Next Stop: Munising
Pictured Rocks Boat Tour = AMAZING!
The boat we were on actually drove right into this little cove - you could just about reach out and touch the rock walls
Spotted a couple of bald eagles!
Sara getting buried in the sand
Jen climbing some of the sandstone
Major looking like a wet rat

This was our last campground we stayed at in Curtis - kids loved it here -there were bunnies, a horse, a lama (who spit at the kids -needless to say they showered after that) and some goats
Feeding the bunnies - this was their favorite thing to do

Holding the bunnies was pretty fun too!
This little goat got out and followed Jen and her carrots around

Only one carrot per animal please
Saved the last one for the horse!
Went to Kitch-iti-kipi - a natural spring that you can see 45 feet to the bottom and watch the springs bubble up - so cool

Last day we went on a 4 hour kayak trip - it took all of that - we barely made our pick up time
And Mr. Major only fell in the water once, but Sara saved him!

CRAZY FUN JULY

We had a crazy busy month of July - but lots of fun!
We spent a long weekend at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes - did some dune buggy driving on the sand dunes, some putt-putt golf and go kart racing

We took the boat with us and went on Silver Lake a couple of days which the kids loved - we were able to pull right up to the dunes, so the kids could climb and then run right back down into the water!

Sara also turned 9 on July 12th!

We did lots of boating and camping and saw some beautiful sunsets too!
